Problem

Introducing a new product on the assembly lines based on the new design specification for the customer application.

Solution

As the manufacturing engineer, I analyzed the drawings and specifications to determine the necessary tooling for manufacturing the new product on the automated assembly lines. I calculated the cost of all the applicable tooling and communicated with the product manager. When the new business was awarded, I designed the tooling, worked with multiple vendors to build it. After it was delivered, I assembled the tooling hands-on and made sure the new product runs on the line without any major issues.

Result

Completed a full product lifecycle for a new bearing part number from planning on paper to execution on the assembly line.
